The Desired Effect

The daylight entering the room must be evenly distributed on the floors in order to assist the effect that the space needs and is desired to create. The direction and pattern of parquet floors also change accordingly.

For example, a square-shaped area would be laid with the parquet flooring in such a way that the direction of the daylight by perpendicular. In a rectangular volume, parquet boards should be laid parallel to the long side. Likewise, if we are trying to make our space appear larger than it is, the parquets should be laid in the direction of the large area. All these details contribute to the visual aesthetics and the integrity of the space.

The V-shaped pattern was first depicted during the Bronze Age on ancient pottery from Knossos, Crete.
