The European
Parquet Federation (FEP) is an organization that represents the European
parquet industry on all platforms, transfers various data to its members and
keeps production quality constant with the standards it creates for the
consumer. Let's get to know this committee, of which Dendro is a member,
together!
Use of Parquet in Spaces
The European
Parquet Federation collects data by working in the fields of raw material
supply, production and market. It analyzes market research on parquet flooring
by collecting market data of members or regions. It promotes corporate and
personal communication among members by monitoring relevant European
legislation and standardization, publishing bulletins, and organizing events
such as the annual European Parquet Congress.
The European
Parquet Federation provides a variety of services to its member companies. It
brings together its members, parquet companies, suppliers and national parquet
federations with its annual congress. It gives its members the opportunity to
introduce themselves by making presentations at these congresses. It provides
technical, commercial and legal advice and provides credibility to its members
on various platforms with the references given by FEP. It increases the
recognition of member companies by including their names on the FEP website. It
summarizes the developments in the European parquet market with its newsletter
published 6 times a year.
FEP sheds light on the success of its members in the awards it gives every year. It selects the most successful company of the year in terms of its policy, sales, quality and production. They check the pulse of the market with a little competition in their own standards.
Parquet Flooring Process
European Parquet Federation Standards
The European Parquet Federation standard states that a wooden flooring product can be called "parquet" if the top layer thickness is 2.5 mm. This standard allows the quality image of parquet to be preserved against other flooring alternatives on the market, as well as against numerous imitations. These standards, which Dendro also has, have been determined by the European Parquet Federation for quality and ideal use. The federation, which builds a healthy bridge between both producers and consumers, continues its work for both parties.
Multi-layer wooden parquet standards determined for users, according to wear layer thickness;
Parquet > 2.5 mm
Wood floors < 2.5 mm
Covering tiles are < 0.7 mm.
The standards it sets for solid wood parquet are;
Mosaic parquet 8 mm
Lamp parquet 6-13 mm
Solid parquet > 13 mm.
Dendro offers endless color options and Real Wood certification.
Sustainable Perspective
FEP also supports sustainability with projects such as Sustainable Carbon Cycles, Energy Performance of Buildings, and Circular Economy Action Plan, together with the European Union's European Green Deal, for its action to ensure the demand for wood. This plan is very useful for FEP and its members, who value sustainable action, as environmentalists limit wood harvesting through the Biodiversity Strategy. It is very important for the federation that the ecological balance is not disturbed during the journey of the parquet from the raw material to the consumers' homes.
Issues Addressed at the 2022 Hamburg Congress
At the Hamburg congress it organized in 2022, FEP announced that parquet consumption in Europe increased by 5.8 percent in 2021 and that this was due to the renovation of houses after the pandemic and the increase in living expenses. He talked about the work to increase consumption and shared the necessary data and preparations with his members. With the increase in demand, the solution of material supply was also discussed. In parallel, restricting the availability of side materials such as glue and polish was among the problems discussed. Topics such as global inflation, energy costs and access to skilled labor were also resolved with strategies planned in the short and long term at the congress.
Focusing
specifically on parquet, FEP aims to fix quality anytime and anywhere with
various criteria and provides all kinds of support for the parquet market by
continuing its work throughout Europe. It aims to move the sector forward with
the privileges it offers to its members and the decisions it takes for consumer
satisfaction.
