09/10/2023

Berlin-based artist Bonny Carrera, who lives in Germany and creates photorealistic illustrations with her 3D designs, creates her works by drawing on many different disciplines. When describing her work, she states that organic and pop art styles are at the forefront. In furniture design, she has many works that combine functionality and aesthetics. Let's get to know the artist better together!

The artist, who attracted attention with his armchair and sofa designs, started to make a name for himself on social platforms such as Instagram. Carrera, which brings his works to his followers by presenting real and functional object creations digitally, draws attention with his use of color and design line. He states that he gets his armchairs and sofas with surprising textures and shapes, especially from the colors and expressions of fruits and vegetables, through the artificial intelligence-based Midjourney program. He defines himself as an interior designer who produces custom-made items. Although there is no production demand for fruit and vegetable creations at the moment, he predicts that it may go digital in the future. The artist, who says that he learned 3D design by himself, shares his knowledge by giving online and face-to-face training. He contributes to increasing and expanding the use of artificial intelligence for creative solutions.

To expand his series, he was inspired by the unique style of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, known as the founder of neoplasticism, and reinterpreted it in his furniture designs. In the series, he created avant-garde designs by bringing the iconic colors and lines used by Mondrian to the seating group. Thanks to her ability to show creativity through art, he has created timeless digital productions in our age of technology.

The straight line, geometric form and basic colors in Mondrian's understanding of art combine with Carrera's digital world. We witness an interdisciplinary work by seeing red, blue and yellow colors, mostly created on a white background, on digital armchairs and sofas, apart from the abstract painting. This concept reflects not only functional furniture, but also the artist's imagination as cheerful works of art.

Compositions created using geometric shapes generally consist of squares and rectangles. Developed with inspiration from Mondrian, Dendro's Stil - D11 model reflects the De Stijl style in spaces with its use both as flooring and on the walls. It appears as a good option for those who want to create a different ambiance alongside the classic wooden laminated flooring appearance.
